Luka Doncic Gets Honest About Playing With LeBron Amid Rumored Animosity

Doncic (4)

Despite speculation about LeBron James’ future in Los Angeles, Luka Doncic is making it clear where he stands with his superstar teammate.

“Luka loves playing with LeBron and has learned so much from him. He has nothing but the utmost respect for LeBron and considers it an honor to be his teammate,” Doncic’s agent Lara Beth Seager told Ramona Shelburne of ESPN.

Seagar also said, “The Lakers leadership team has been incredibly welcoming and supportive of Luka since we arrived in L.A. We’ve spent a lot of time talking and getting to know each other over the last few months, and we’ve formed a strong working relationship. Championships are won when you work together. We all share that same goal.”

The two stars joined forces in Los Angeles after a blockbuster trade brought Doncic from Dallas last season.

While James and Doncic quickly developed on-court chemistry, the Lakers’ front office appears to be steering the franchise into Doncic’s timeline, leaving James in a precarious position as he enters the final year of his deal.

Earlier this month, NBA insider John Gambadoro reported that LeBron isn’t a fan of playing with Doncic.

“LeBron does not like playing with Luka,” Gambadoro said. “Reaves does not like playing with Luka. Reaves does not like getting the ball with two seconds left on the shot clock. LeBron is not fond of playing with Luka. The Lakers are going to turn their attention to build around Luka, not LeBron.

“So, this is Luka’s team now,” Gambadoro added. “… He’ll probably come back, but I wouldn’t say it’s a guaranteed no-brainer LeBron comes back to the Lakers because there are guys that don’t like playing with Luka.”

The rumors may continue to fly, but as to what’s actually going on inside the Lakers camp remains a mystery.
