This week, I tried to have some fun with the Rays Reacts sponsorship from FanDuel and simply ask: who was robbed the most by not getting an All-Star nod?
Here there was a clear favorite: Junior Caminero, and his plight would be rectified quickly — both as being named an injury replacement for Alex Bregman, and being elevated to the American League starter at third base after Jose Ramirez dropped out of the midsummer classic — but there’s more! He’ll also be participating in the Home Run Derby!
But wait, check under your seats, that’s right — there’s another All-Star!
Here is the mild surprise, we didn’t have ranked choice voting, but 18% of y’all felt strongly that Drew Rasmussen was worthy of the nod, and you fans are being rewarded, as he’s just been named to the ASG moments ago.
Rasmussen joins Caminero, Brandon Lowe (who is on the IL), and Jonathan Aranda on the ASG roster, giving Rays fans plenty of reason to watch.
