Zion Robinson, a four-star wideout, has been a Michigan target for a long time now.
The Wolverines offered him back when he was in the eighth grade. Jim Harbaugh was still the coach in Ann Arbor at that time, but Michigan has stuck with Robinson, and all that time on the recruiting trail has now paid off.
It was announced on Wednesday that Robinson committed to the Wolverines.
The four-star from Mansfield, Texas, told Chad Simmons of On3 that though he’s held an offer from Michigan for a long time, the Wolverines started getting after him on the recruiting trail this past March.
He took an official visit to Michigan in late May, and despite taking other official visits to Miami and Stanford, everything Michigan offered ultimately won Robinson over.
“I picked Michigan because of the academics, football, the people and the connections there,” he told On3.
Robinson is a big-time wideout commitment for Michigan. According to 247Sports, he’s the No. 6 wide receiver recruit in the country and a top 75 player overall. As a junior for Mansfield High School, he caught 42 passes for 527 yards and eight touchdowns, averaging 12.5 yards per reception.
He’s also a track star for his high school. He was the Texas 6A high jump champion as a sophomore in the spring of 2024.
Robinson is Michigan’s 13th 2026 commitment, and he’s now the Wolverines’ highest-ranked recruit.
