The BYU Cougars have picked up a massive commitment on the 2026 recruiting trail.
On its own merits, the commitment of 5-star quarterback Ryder Lyons would have been a huge deal. From Folsom, California, Lyons is ranked as the No. 4 quarterback in the 2026 class and the No. 13 recruit overall, according to 247Sports
Lyons was also strongly considering Oregon as well as USC, Ohio State, Michigan and Ole Miss. Considering the competition, it’s tough to call this anything but a banner moment for head coach Kalani Sitake and his staff.
