Atlanta Braves News: Ozzie Albies could return this week, Grant Holmes to start Tuesday, more

On Monday, many MLB teams had multiple hits with runners in scoring position during their games.

This includes both the Dodgers and Mets, who both won their respective games.

One team that did not have any hits with runners in scoring position on Monday was the Atlanta Braves, despite having ten such chances in the first four innings of their series finale against Los Angeles.

The end result for LA was a 9-0 victory over the Braves, while the Mets beat the Nationals 2-1. The Braves did get a series split against the Dodgers over the weekend; however, they still remain one game back of the Mets in the NL playoff race.

Fortunately, the Braves toughest test for the rest of the season is now behind them. But the Reds and Marlins await them this week, with perhaps a season defining series against the Mets to start the following week. Atlanta has no more room for error: They badly need to win every game for the rest of the week to regain a favorable position in the standings. But that can only be done if the offense finds some sort of consistency, which is a very tall task for this team.
