Atlanta Braves News: Jorge Soler update, road trip onto Anaheim, more


An MRI revealed that Atlanta Braves outfielder Jorge Soler has a mild hamstring strain. He exited Wednesday’s game with tightness in his left hamstring and is now considered day-to-day.

He will be with the Braves as they travel to Anaheim, and though he will not appear in Friday’s game, an appearance on Saturday of Sunday has not been ruled out.

He’s been a huge asset after being acquired by the Braves at the end of July. Since rejoining the team, he’s recorded four home runs and 12 RBI.

Spencer Schwellenbach, Chris Sale, and Charlie Morton are each slated to pitch in the Braves’ upcoming series against the Los Angeles Angels.

The Braves were shut out during Thursday’s series finale with the San Francisco Giants, 6-0. The return of Michael Harris, the hot-and-cold offense, and catcher production were each displayed in the series takeaways.

The 2025 Spring Training schedule has been announced, and the Braves begin play in the Grapefruit League against the Minnesota Twins on February 22.

The Detroit Tigers called up infield prospect Jace Jung to make his major league debut today against the New York Yankees. Jung was drafted 12th overall in 2022. The club also called up shortstop Trey Sweeney.

The Boston Red Sox are reportedly signing left-hander Rich Hill to a minor league deal. It will mark his eighth contract with the organization.
