When Nick McCloud is on the field for the Giants, good things seem to happen.
As joint practices got underway, Cor’Dale Flott was CB2 with McCloud looming. By the end, he was taking the starting reps and clearly earned every single one. He was stout in coverage and caught the eye of his teammates.
“Nick McCloud,” linebacker Brian Burns said, “he showed me a different side of him. Every time I see him, he’s been doing his thing. And, yeah, I just want to give him his flowers.”
Like Jones, McCloud also endeared himself to the locker room by taking on offensive lineman Peneii Sewell in a fight after he felt the All-Pro took a cheap shot at rookie cornerback Dru Phillips.
