Atlanta Braves News: Jorge Soler clutch, Sunday starter TBA, and more

[ad_1]

The Atlanta Braves guaranteed a series split at the least after Friday’s 5-3 win over the Miami Marlins. Spencer Schwellenbach got the start; he started out shaky but then settled in to last seven innings with ten strikeouts.

The Braves were forced to overcome a three-run deficit, and it was no problem for the offense, which got rolling in the eighth. Jorge Soler recorded his first RBI as a Brave since 2021, and it was a huge one to tie up the ballgame.

The Braves improve to 60-49 and go for the series win tonight at 7:20 ET behind Grant Holmes.

More Braves News:

The Braves have yet to announce their starter for Sunday’s game against the Fish, with Max Fried, Reynaldo Lopez, and AJ Smith-Shawver as options.

Ian Anderson turned in a five inning start for the Gwinnett Stripers on Thursday and was showing what appeared to be a new breaking ball. More in the minor league recap.

The Braves had a relatively bad July, but it might just be a turning point.
