The Atlanta Braves are adding a fresh arm to the bullpen ahead of Saturday’s game against the New York Mets. The Braves announced that they have reinstated right-handed reliever Jimmy Herget from the 15-day injured list. Daysbel Hernandez was optioned back to Gwinnett as the corresponding move.

The Braves acquired Herget from the Angels back on May 2 in exchange for cash. He appeared in five games where he allowed three runs in 7 1⁄3 innings in mostly mop up duty. Herget was placed on the 15-day injured list on June 8 with inflammation in his throwing shoulder.
Hernandez was recalled to the active roster on Thursday and threw 38 pitches while allowing one hit, one run and three walks in 1 1⁄3 innings during Friday’s 8-4 loss to the Mets. That was the first earned run that Hernandez had allowed all season in 10 appearances and 11 innings.
