Max Fried will take the mound Thursday night as the Atlanta Braves will try to secure a series win when they wrap a four-game series against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Right-hander Brandon Pfaadt will get the start for Arizona.
The Braves have scored at least five runs in six-straight games and will only make one change to their lineup with Sean Murphy back behind the plate. Pfaadt’s only career appearance against Atlanta came back in early April where he allowed five runs over 5 2⁄3 innings. Marcell Ozuna had a double and a homer in that game and drove in four runs. Jarred Kelenic also had two hits in three trips to the plate against Pfaadt.
For the Diamondbacks, Ketel Marte will lead off and serve as the DH. Randal Grichuk will get the start in left field and will hit third. Jake McCarthy starts in center and is hitting fifth. Gabriel Moreno is back behind the plate after sitting out Wednesday’s game.
First pitch for Thursday’s game is scheduled for 9:40 p.m. ET and can be seen on Bally Sports South.
