It was the Allan Winans show tonight as Allan shut down the Redbirds offenses with another great start. Over his last four starts, Winans has compiled a 0.36 ERA, 0.680 WHIP, 12.2 K/9, and 1.4 BB/9 rate – just absolutely dealing since fixing some blister issues that had annoyed him before. While Allan did his thing, the Stripers did theirs – scoring all five of their runs in the second and third innings. Eli White got it started by homering at the top of the second inning.

Nacho Alvarez Jr would add two on later in the inning with a two run double.

They would add another pair of runs in the third when Luke Waddell grounds out with the bases loaded to score Chadwick Tromp. Quickly followed up by Eli White scoring on a wild pitch.

With the score 5-0, AJ Minter made his second rehab appearance coming into the game in the seventh inning. It wasn’t the greatest Minter outing as he started off the inning with a walk, then would throw a wild pitch and allow the runner to move up to second. That runner would later score on a groundout to third making it 5-1. Matt Carasiti, and Tommy Doyle would put up 0s the final two innings to secure the win for the Stripers.

Drue Hackenberg had it going in his Double-A debut. Working 94-96 with his fastball with a solid slider working Drue cut the Biscuits down with eight strikeouts over six innings. The Mississippi Braves offense backed up that pitching performance with some timely hitting of their own. Mississippi went up 1-0 in the bottom of the first inning with a Justin Dean sacrifice fly scoring David Fletcher. They would then tack on three more in the bottom of the third, with the big blow coming from a Cody Milligan two run homer.

Montgomery would pick up a run of their own in the eighth, and then later loaded the inning with two out before the Braves turned to Anthony Vizcaya.

Vizcaya allowed one single in the ninth before closing the game out and picking up his second save of the season.

Kevin Kilpatrick Jr. set the tone for this game pretty quickly by hitting the second pitch of the game for a homer to put the Emperors up 1-0. They would score their second run in the third inning when Kevin Kilpatrick Jr. tripled with one out before coming in to score on a Sabin Ceballos ground out (2-0). The Dash would put up one run in the bottom half of the inning to make it 2-1, but the Emperors responded with a six run fourth inning highlighted by Sabin Ceballos hitting a grand slam.

The Emperors would add another run in the 8th when, who else but Sabin Ceballos, drives in his sixth RBI of the game with a ground out to third. Their final run would come in the 9th inning when Nick Ward singles in EJ Exposito who had singled and stolen a base earlier in the inning.

Making a spot start to allow an additional day of rest for pitchers, Adel Dilone was at the top of his game tonight striking out eight over four innings of work. After walking the leadoff hitter he would then strike out the side to atone for his mistake. The second was also quick work for him as he went FO, SO, GO to put up another 0. The third inning came around, the game still tied 0-0, and Adel put up yet another 1-2-3 inning, this time striking out the first and final batter of the inning. The GreenJackets would start off the bottom of the third with loading the bases with 0 outs when Will Verdung would ground into a double play allowing Leiker Figueroa to score from third and put the GreenJackets up 1-0. In his final inning of the game Adel would allow his first hit, a single, but also strike out a pair.

The game would remain 1-0 until the sixth when Jacob Godman hit his first homer of the season to extend the GreenJackets lead to 2-0. Charleston answered in the top of the 7th when LJ McDonough gave up a lead off homer to Jhon Diaz to make it 2-1, before striking out three of the next five to get it to the bottom of the inning. The GreenJackets would add their final run in the 7th when a wild pitch allowed Luis Sanchez to score from third. Beau Philip picked up his first save of the season working two innings of perfect relief (2IP 0H 0R 0BB 2K).
