LSU lands commitment from four-star OT, ex-Arkansas pledge

There was always a chance that four-star offensive tackle Caruys Curne from Marion, Ark., would decide to stay in-state and play for the Razorbacks.

In fact, there was a time when Curne was committed to Arkansas. But a March visit to Baton Rouge, La., opened things back up for him. He decommitted from Arkansas and apparently decided to give both schools a shot.

Curne officially visited Arkansas on June 7 and followed up with a June 14 official visit with LSU.

He’s now officially a Bayou Bengal, choosing LSU over Arkansas. The Missouri Tigers were in the running as well.

“NFL Development, the resources for player and personal development and the coaches are the biggest reasons I committed to LSU,” Curne told On3. “I love the history of the program. The more I learned in the recruiting process about each school, the more I knew I wanted to play somewhere with the track record of playing for championships and developing top NFL talent. After visiting every school, I’m confident LSU has the best setup for me to be successful as a student-athlete.”

Curne is a big commitment for LSU. Literally.

He checks in at 6-foot-4, 300 pounds, and in high school he’s a two-way star. The 247Sports Composite ranks him as the No. 11 offensive tackle in the 2025 class and he’s the consensus top recruit out of the state of Arkansas.
