Travis d’Arnaud leaves game with dizziness

Atlanta Braves catcher Travis d’Arnaud exited Friday night’s game against the San Diego Padres after the fifth inning. The Braves later announced that d’Arnaud exited the game with dizziness. He was struck in the face mask by a foul ball during the fifth inning.

Chadwick Tromp replaced d’Arnaud to start the sixth inning. The Braves don’t have a ton of depth behind the plate at the moment. Sean Murphy has been out since suffering a strained oblique on Opening Day. He is expected to begin a rehab assignment as soon as next week.

d’Arnaud has dealt with four concussions in his career, including one that caused him to miss several games last season.
