So, here’s the deal. Travis d’Arnaud had a three-homer game yesterday. Did that get him moved up to sixth for Saturday night’s game?
I have no idea. MLB.com has one thing; the Braves’ Twitter account has another.
If d’Arnaud has moved up, then it’ll be a slight change for him, as he hasn’t hit higher than seventh so far this season. (He hit fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth over the course of last season.)
But, it turns out he hasn’t been moved up, as MLB.com finally revised their lineup.
In addition to these moves, with a right-handed starter in the form of Nathan Eovaldi on the mound, the Braves are moving Michael Harris II back to second in the lineup, while also starting, as expected, Jarred Kelenic in left field and Luis Guillorme at second base.
Here’s the history of all these guys against Eovaldi:
Everyone but Guillorme has stood in against Eovaldi at least a few times, and the two guys in this Braves lineup with double-digit PAs against him haven’t fared particularly well, but it’s a teeny-tiny sample either way.
The Rangers made a bunch of roster moves today, including activating Nathaniel Lowe from the Injured List and placing Sam Huff on the Bereavement List. As a result, their lineup is different from anything else they’ve used this season because it has Lowe in it.
This young lineup has a pretty funny set of past experiences with Charlie Morton — five guys have faced him exactly thrice, one guy has two PAs, Marcus Semien has 23 PAs, and the other two haven’t faced him at all.
